Privacy
Last reviewed: May 12, 2026. This privacy policy is a starting point — we will have counsel review it before SimplifyLocal opens up beyond hand-selected customers.
SimplifyLocal turns the jobs you complete into pages on your website, on your Google Business Profile, and in search results. This page explains what we collect, what we do with it, and who else sees it. Plain language — if anything here is unclear, email us at the address at the bottom of the page.
Who this applies to
This page covers business owners and the people they invite to sign in to SimplifyLocal. Homeowners and other end-customers of the business don't have accounts with SimplifyLocal — their information reaches us only when the business sends it (for example, when a job is completed in their field-service software and photos of that job are forwarded to us).
What we collect
Two streams of information flow into SimplifyLocal:
- From you (the business owner). Your name, the email you sign in with, your business name, your phone number, your service-area cities and ZIP codes, your website address, and the settings you choose inside SimplifyLocal.
- From your field-service software. When a job is completed in Housecall Pro (and, later, other field-service tools we connect to), the software forwards us the job's notes, the completion date, the service type, the service address city and state, and the photos the technician uploaded. We do not pull the homeowner's name, full street address, phone number, or billing details. If those values do reach us by accident — for example, the technician typed the homeowner's name into the job notes — we strip them out before anything goes public.
What we use it for
We use the data above to do three things:
- Draft the page that describes the job. We pass the job notes and photos to an AI model that writes a first draft of the page headline and body. You review and publish from your dashboard.
- Publish that page on your website.Once you publish, the page is served from your own domain (or a SimplifyLocal-hosted URL while you're getting set up) so that homeowners searching for a contractor in your area can find your work.
- Operate SimplifyLocal. Account management, billing, customer support, and protecting against abuse.
Who else sees it
SimplifyLocal runs on top of a handful of providers. Each one sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase stores your account and your job data. Stored in the United States.
- Render hosts the SimplifyLocal application.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the published pages and handles caching and basic security.
- Anthropic (Claude) writes the first draft of each job page from your job notes and photos. Anthropic does not train on data sent through their API.
- Stripe handles billing. If you pay us, Stripe sees your name, email, and payment method — we do not.
- PostHogrecords how the SimplifyLocal app is used (page views, button clicks, error rates) so we can improve it. PostHog does not see your customers' data; it sees only how you and your team move through the SimplifyLocal interface.
- Sentry records when something in the SimplifyLocal app crashes, so we can fix it. Crash reports contain stack traces and the URL of the page that failed.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Pages we publish on your behalf
Pages you publish through SimplifyLocal are public. They appear on your website and they are indexed by Google and other search engines. If you want a page taken down, unpublish it from your dashboard — the page becomes a 404 within a few minutes and search engines drop it from their index over the following days.
How long we keep your data
We keep your account data and your published pages for as long as your business is using SimplifyLocal. If you close your account, we keep a backup for 30 days in case you change your mind, and then we permanently delete it. Billing records are kept for seven years because tax law requires it.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we have on file for your business.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your account and the data tied to it (subject to the seven-year billing-record exception above).
- Send you a copy of your data so you can move to another tool.
Email us at the address below and we'll get back to you within seven days.
Children
SimplifyLocal is built for business owners. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 16.
Changes to this page
If we change anything material — for example, we add a new third-party service that handles your data — we'll email you before the change takes effect.
